Professional DevelopmentIn addition to a training grant that MƒA DC Master Teachers receive for advanced coursework and conferences, Master Teachers participate in at least one professional development workshop each month, generally workshops with a strong mathematics focus. These workshops are some of the best professional development workshops available in the Washington, D.C. area.
The Master Teachers collaborate on and present most of these workshops, which are attended by math teachers throughout the D.C. region, giving them the opportunity to guide and mentor less experienced teachers. These professional development workshops provide math teachers with the learning experiences needed to make a difference for their students, while also helping Master Teachers share their knowledge and resources with the DC educational community. |
