MƒA DC Events
Professional Development WorkshopsEvery first Saturday of the month MƒA DC offers a professional development workshop.
Math ƒor America Professional Development is for teachers, by teachers. We empower our teachers to direct their own professional learning. This is why every session leader is still working in the classroom and continuing to work on improving their practice. All math teachers are welcome, free of charge, and can earn hours toward licensure renewal. Please contact us if you are interested in attending one of our weekend PDs. Resources from our sessions can be found on our resource site. |
DC Math IgniteMath Ignite is our biannual Math workshop at the Carnegie Institution for Science.
Inspired by The Math Forum's Ignite Talks, DC math teachers give rapid fire talks about the ideas in mathematics teaching and learning that inspire them. Each speaker gets 5 minutes to talk about whatever ignites their passion, using 20 slides that auto-advance every 15 seconds, whether they are ready or not. Open to the DC education community, the aim of DC Math Ignite is to provide a fun and informative platform for math educators to share their ideas and learn from one another. Our next DC Math Ignite 6! will be held Tuesday, April 30, 2019, from 6:30-8:00pm at Carnegie Institution for Science (1530 P Street NW). You can register for the event at: tinyurl.com/DCIgnite6 We're looking forward to celebrating teaching math in DC with you! |
